  • Solutions that leverage the Mitsubishi Electric Group’s comprehensive strengths

The scope of our solutions ranges from buildings to building clusters and even to entire cities.

Our strengths, unique to the Mitsubishi Electric Group, include development and manufacturing technologies for a wide range of building equipment, field knowledge gained through extensive maintenance experience, and advanced digital technologies such as AI and digital twinning.

Leveraging this knowledge from the entire Group, we accumulate and analyze a wide range of operational data obtained through the maintenance and operation management of building equipment. We use the data to create new solutions that address social challenges like safety, security and carbon neutrality, contributing to the actualization of tomorrow’s smart cities.

From buildings to citywide solutions

We utilize digital technology to connect not only the various equipment in individual buildings, but also to connect multiple buildings and entire cities. We’re helping resolve urban issues such as the environment, disaster prevention and transportation, for areawide optimization.

Single buildingConnecting building equipment

By connecting the equipment within the building, we can utilize the collected and accumulated data to provide a variety of smart building solutions.

Utilizing data to
provide a variety
of solutions

Comfort and energy savings

For instance...

Visualize power usage and manage energy efficiently. Achieve Net Zero Energy Building.

Optimize air conditioning, lighting, etc. based on the workplace and people working there.

Safety and security

For instance...

Enhance security by linking elevators, air conditioning, and lighting.

Prevent intrusion from outside by providing access rights tailored to each user.

Higher efficiency

For instance...

Ensure smooth gate entry and exit using walk-through facial recognition.

Improve productivity through work sharing with robots.

Building clusterConnecting multiple buildings

Connect the equipment of multiple buildings managed by the same administrator. Enables efficient management of multiple buildings without visiting the site.

Utilizing data to
provide a variety
of solutions

Comfort and energy savings

For instance...

Remotely control air conditioning and lighting based on occupancy and location information. Achieve energy savings across the entire building cluster.

Create an indoor environment that suits each individual’s preferences, regardless of the building or space they are in.

Safety and security

For instance...

Check alarm history for multiple buildings at a glance. Respond quickly to any abnormalities that occur.

Higher efficiency

For instance...

Users can enter and exit multiple buildings simply by touching with their ID card (employee ID) or smartphone.

Smart cityConnecting the entire city

Whether you are the owner or manager of a building, areawide optimization is possible by utilizing data from inside and outside of buildings, contributing to the actualization of smart cities that address social challenges.

Utilizing data to
optimize the
entire area

Comfortable mobility within buildings and the area

For instance...

High-precision positioning technology makes a variety of autonomous driving systems possible. From automated delivery by robots to autonomous vehicles allowing people to move freely both indoors and outdoors, comfortable mobility can be achieved across the entire area.

Area security through data linkage

For instance...

Monitor the city by linking video analysis and data from surveillance cameras within an area. Quickly detect and defend against cyberattacks by swiftly detecting unauthorized communication to the system.

Areawide energy optimization

For instance...

ICT can be used to build an efficient energy network across the entire region, achieving energy savings and reducing CO2 emissions. Rapid collaboration during disasters can also ensure a stable energy supply.

Demonstration experiments aimed at promoting Net Zero Energy Building conversion

SUSTIE: Net Zero Energy Building-related technology test facility (Kanagawa, Japan)

A Net Zero Energy Building (ZEB) is a building that maintains a comfortable indoor environment while achieving an annual energy balance of net zero (or energy generated is greater than energy consumed) through energy conservation achieved by incorporating high-efficiency insulation and equipment, coupled with energy generation via solar power and other methods.

At SUSTIE, Mitsubishi Electric’s ZEB-related technology test facility, we’re conducting a variety of initiatives to promote ZEB through demonstrations of energy management and other technologies, such as building operation using energy consumption and comfort predictions, controlling ventilation volume according to room occupancy, and switching to natural ventilation.
