Our solutionsMitsubishi Electric de Colombia Training Center

“metric” is both Mitsubishi Electric de Colombia’s newest cutting-edge elevator and escalator training facility and a world-class showroom that demonstrates our solutions in action. Opened in Bogotá, Colombia, the center is a core facility for the Latin America region, and an essential nexus to accelerate the development of highly skilled field personnel.

In addition to providing building solution experts with advanced training in air conditioning equipment and Building Management Systems (BMS), the facility’s showroom lets visitors experience some of the innovations that make our building solutions the ideal choice for greater safety, security, and comfort.

Our solutions in action

Explore some of the technologies in the training center and showroom facility.

DOAS (Destination Oriented Allocation System)Integrated access control for ultimate security and convenience

Learn how DOAS combines advanced authentication options for access control, with smooth elevator allocation to reduce congestion.

Our Destination Oriented Allocation System (DOAS) is a next-generation smart access control system designed to alleviate elevator congestion while combining security and convenience. It provides authentication that can also include biometric identification. DOAS is integrated with security and access control technologies, which work in conjunction with elevators to ensure smooth and safe movement.

At the “metric” training facility, there are three ways to pass through the turnstile gate: palm recognition; face recognition; or ID card authentication.

After the user passes through the gate, the assigned elevator is automatically called, and the turnstile display indicates which car to take to reach their destination.

All permissions, restrictions, access periods and default floor settings for people who enter the building can be assigned by the administrator in advance, enhancing security and access control.

ELCS-SP (Elevator Call System with Smartphone)Enables users to call an elevator with their smartphone

Learn how our ELCS-SP makes travel smarter and smoother even during crowded hours, and with no need to touch the elevator control panel.

Our Elevator Call System with Smartphone (ELCS-SP) makes elevator call registration possible via smartphone, eliminating the need to touch the elevator control panel. After registering the elevator call, the elevator number of the car to board is displayed on the smartphone, and a haptic notification is sent to inform users of its arrival, directing them to the boarding entrance while distributing the waiting spaces in the elevator hall, reducing crowding. Users simply set their current floor (from) and destination floor (to) and move seamlessly to the desired floor.

BMS (Building Management System)Introducing the Building Management System that keeps the facility moving

Our smart BMS provides unified management of elevators/escalators, lighting, and air conditioning, allowing efficiency and safety to be controlled in real time.

The smart Building Management System (BMS) that manages and controls the entire Mitsubishi Electric de Colombia Training Center is on large-screen display within the facility, showing actual screens of our solutions in action—in real time. Multiple kinds of building equipment are connected to the system and monitored or controlled through user-friendly interfaces.

Here is an introduction to some of the building functions that can be managed by our system.

Our BMS connects various building equipment for ultimate monitoring and control.

At “metric” you can view a large-screen live demonstration of its Building Management System.

Elevator monitoring and control screen

This advanced system monitors and controls all elevators installed in the building. The interface shows current operational status for each elevator car in real time, and enables administrator functions, changes to the waiting floor or home floor, floor destination restrictions, and more. It provides smart elevator management that combines safety with efficiency.

Floor lockout function settings screen

As part of the Building Management System, this function allows administrators to set floors at which elevators will not stop. Floor lockout helps increase security and can be used to reduce waiting times.

Power consumption screens

This interface allows building administrators to monitor the energy usage of various types of building equipment throughout a facility. Power consumption data is gathered from ventilation, air conditioning, pump equipment, lighting and other building systems. UPS status can also be monitored via this screen. It provides a complete picture of total power usage all in one place, enabling real-time control and smart, energy-saving choices for sustainable building management.

Water pump monitoring screen
Fire detection screen

These screens enable administrators to monitor water pump operation and fire detection equipment. Although not control interfaces themselves, they allow close observation of the building’s water and fire status, enabling administrators to act immediately if the need arises.

Lighting control screen

This interface provides smart monitoring and control of lighting systems in the building. It allows for manual operation as well as weekly settings using the scheduling function. Lighting management that can be tailored to the day of the week or to specific times helps support tenant needs, save energy and ensure efficient operation.

Alarm screen

The BMS enables real-time monitoring of the status of each piece of equipment. When a malfunction occurs or an alert requires the administrator’s attention, a notification appears on the alarm screen. The interface also displays an alarm history identifying equipment or systems that have generated alerts in the past.
